Scanlan has over 18 years of professional finance and international business development experience. A 1992 graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Scanlan was recruited to form an equipment leasing company for a $1 billion bank holding company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Scanlan helped grow the company, which was ultimately acquired by Wells Fargo Equipment finance, where he contributed equipment-leasing assets to a $5 billion portfolio as a national account manager. In 2001, Scanlan joined a boutique FINRA licensed broker dealer spun out of RBC Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis to form the investment banking division. During his seven-year tenure, Scanlan was successful in raising and syndicating close to $500 million in private debt and hybrid equity transactions in various asset classes, including heavy equipment and casino gaming equipment (industrial, transportation, aircraft, agricultural equipment), and commercial and residential real estate. In 2008, Scanlan successfully introduced a joint venture financial partnership between a multi-billion dollar New York and London-based merchant bank and one of the most powerful Saudi Arabian business enterprises.

As in-house counsel he has overseen the formation, funding, startup and post-startup operations of numerous businesses, and has advised both startups and established companies in the navigation of complex regulatory requirements of industries as varied as healthcare to online gaming. In the online gaming industry, he has overseen licensing applications in multiple jurisdictions, guided legal compliance for the operational components and negotiated all form of supplier agreements, service provider contracts, and partnership and joint venture agreements.
